...They LOOK great...but a little overkill both in price AND material...The BIG question is will they be LIGHTER and stronger than carbon? IMO there is NO way the servo plate needs to be titanium...The front top plate maybe :o

...needs to be titanium...There it is. :) Does anything really ever NEED to be titanium? We buy it because we can. Ti could be the new verb. Like...do you Ti? Oh, I love to Ti...don't you?

Sorry...

No way! Maybe in this scale, but I still bend and break titanium pins and turnbuckles on my 1:10 nitro truck from time to time. They hold up way better than any alluminum ones I have found.

I don't know about this scale however.

I'd say alloy is probably overkill in some cases.

i would get them just to say i have titanium. it is a bragging rights thing.

Does anyone have any thoughts on Ti hinge pins? They are the only option part I didnt buy (besides aluminum gearbox housings). Do the stock pins bend or break?

assumeing the stock pins are steel, the titanium pins would be a 50%ish weight savings It's a worthy investment IMHO. Alloy ones would have better structural rigidity and would be lighter than titanium, but the titanium ones would be bragging rights, would be more resistant to breaking, but bend easier.

*shrug* tradeoff city.

hmmm.....i guess Ti. is pretty ex. for the price tho nice 2 hv em around bcos of wt. saving, but then again, tink its abit overkill if the H8 consist of all available Ti parts, which is not required. I only use em at areas where necessary, like the turn- buckles and screws. I mean I'm applying my knowledge of Ti material and other metals theory from my cycling sense. Alloys is definitely sufficient enuf. Ti. is just for asthetic purposes when overused.

Yah.. I dont really know the characteristics of titanium. I know its heavier than aluminum but lighter than steel.. and expensive. I am going to try using aluminum screws in a lot of areas on my HALF8 - not so much for the weight savings but for the bling factor. I figure in certain areas.. such as for lower shock mounting.. the stress on the screw should be minimal.. I guess we will see.. I'll be sure to bring a drill and tap to the track just in case. ;)

...Titty parts are slipperier? Is that even a word? I run titty rods, titty screws ( :o ) and titty center shafts...That about all the TIT my wallet can handle...
